Motorola Milestone gets 2.1 firmware upgrade in Hong Kong, Europe to follow by 'end of March'
Look away now, Droid owners, as Motorola's finally uploaded the Milestone's Android 2.1 firmware update to its servers. It's only officially sanctioned for users in Hong Kong and Macau for now, but judging by the inclusion of a Dutch language pack in the new firmware, it looks like it's the same stuff that will shortly be rolling out all across Europe as well. In addition to the funky live wallpapers, users will also get a new feature called Motorola Car Home — a special interfa……

Belkin Surf, Share, Play and Play Max app-equipped routers may finally make wireless configuration tear-free
Belkin may have once been about flashy, blue LED-glowing routers with alpha-numeric model numbers, but its new Surf, Share, Play and Play Max are certainly horses of a different color. We caught a glimpse of the new range this morning, and while routers are usually a bit of a snooze fest, this group of boxes show potential of being the easiest routers in the world to configure. While they are surely vanilla-looking, they come with the SSID and encryption pre-configured. Just plug in and you are……

Nokia's PUSH N900 finalists in action: meet Bike Dashboard, Niko, and Pit Crew
I personally had the honor of helping to judge the finalists of Nokia's PUSH N900 MOD IN THE USA contest yesterday morning, and in the process of watching all three teams do their thing, I took the opportunity to film some footage. All three hacks showed some serious ingenuity — not just in terms of the sheer difficulty of pulling a serviceable demo together in a little over three weeks' time, but also in the breadth and depth of the concepts: Pit Crew takes classic slot cars out of th……

Comcast will beat DirecTV to the punch by broadcasting the Masters Tournament in 3D April 7-11
Very cagey way to play it Comcast. While DirecTV, ESPN and Discovery were first to say they would have 3DTV broadcasts back at CES, the cable company will actually be the first to deliver it, starting with the Masters Tournament (but why not the 3D broadcast of the Final Four?) April 7-11. That's right, the first “live next-generation 3D broadcast of a major sporting event on TV, the first live simulcast of a next-gen 3D event online, and the industry's first live multi-camera next-gen 3……

Cabestan's Nostromo watch is geared for success
You might think, given our recent bout of attentiveness toward wristwear, that we're starting to develop an Enwatchet subsection, but that's not entirely accurate. It's just that when we come across such wild and quirky designs, there's nothing to be done but share them with the world. Case in point: the Cabestan Nostromo watch, inspired by the ship from the Alien movie. In the words of its own designers, the Nostromo combines traditional watchmaking with “retro-futuristic audac……

Google Maps adds bicycle directions, turns out its nothing like 'Quicksilver'
Enthusiasts have had plenty to cheer about with the convergence of electronics and bicycling over the years, from bikes that pedal themselves to the various devices and apps that assist them with their training. Panasonic's silicon-packin' batteries boast 30 percent capacity boost, hit stores in 2012
Sure, not a day goes by without some sort revolutionary (if not just plain silly) announcement regarding fuel cells, and once again it looks like it's Panasonic's turn.
